I've decided to continue with my "Beginners Guide To DCUO" with a handy tips guide. Here you'll be able to read all about the various chat functions, information on stats, and how the different colored loot works. Stuff every DCUO player absolutely needs to know.
How the loot works
When you knock out enemies or complete missions, you'll obtain various types of loot. Sometimes you'll receive items that you can equip on your character, while other items you just sell to a vendor. Loot also shares a rarity system using a color coded system.
Gray - Loot that you can sell for a little cash
White - Basic equipment that have fairly low stats
Green - Rarer than the white loot, has better stats
Blue - Pretty rare, usually given after quests
Purple - Very rare, keep an eye out for these
Orange - Legendary loot
The various statistics
Health: Your health measures the amount of damange you can take before being knocked out. Health automatically regenerates once you are away from combat.
Power: Power is used to unleash your power-specific special abilities. It's like an MP gauge from an RPG. Power regenerates out of combat and you also pick up blue orbs after defeating enemies that will recharge the meter.
Defense: Defense reduces the damage received by attacks made by non-player enemies.
Might: Might increases the damange and Health recovery effects caused by super powers.
Restoration: Restoration increases the potency of all Health recovery effects you activate. Healer role characters will especially want to load up on equipment that raise this stat.
Vitalization: Vitalization increases the potency of all Power recovering effects you activate. Usually the controller role uses this stat most.
Precision: Precision adds to the base damage caused by all weapon attacks.
Toughness: Toughness reduces the damange you receive from attacks made by enemy players. So most useful on a PvP server.
Dominance: Dominance makes your control effects such as stuns harder to escape. Dominance increases the damage an enemy must take before control is broken. Controller role characters will want to load up on equipment that raise this stat.

Wow thats the *exact* same chat shortcuts as in Anarchy Online, another mmorpg. Awsome.
ReplyDeleteYeah it's basically the same as Final Fantasy XI as well :) Makes it real familiar to other MMO players that way.
